Worrying about money?
So is everyone else! Right now, over 17 million people in the UK are dealing with daily financial anxiety. However, as living in a constant state of stress is bad for your health (and makes no difference to your bank balance), it is important that you start doing something about it.
With that in mind, here are just some of the steps that you can take to stop worrying about money!
Claim back money that is rightfully yours. There are a wide range of scenarios in which you may be eligible for compensation. For example, right now, a growing number of people are making Ford PCP car finance claims, due to being overcharged on car financing deals from the company between 2007 and 2021. If you’re part of this group, now is your time to make a claim, as you may then find some extra money coming your way.
Find more ways to make money. If you are spending more money than you are earning, then now is the perfect time to look into ways in which you can make some supplementary income. For example, provided that you’re ready to really work on refining your craft, you can make a lot of money blogging or creating content online.
Alternatively, you could start making a little more money by completing surveys, many of which will not take up more than a few minutes of your time and can actually be pretty interesting. For example, you may be asked to give your opinion on your favorite TV shows or new product releases.
Ask for help if you need it. There are many topics of conversation that people find hard to discuss, money being one of the most obvious. That being said, there are plenty of systems in place that you can rely on for support during this time, from your bank to charities supporting those who may be in debt. While talking about your issues may be the very last thing you want to do, sometimes it is necessary to get back on the right track again. Don’t be afraid to ask for help!
Save, save, save. Having more money in your savings account will also help you put your mind at ease this time. This is because it means that you’ll have funds set aside that you can rely on in an emergency. As such, you should try to add at least 10% of your monthly income into your savings account (or a little more if you’re able to do so). While this may require you to pull back on your spending a little, it’s something that you’ll thank yourself for later.
Final thoughts. Worrying about money may seem inevitable, esepcially in the current climate. However, there are plenty of steps that you can take to stop worrying about money and put your mind at ease, this includes saving as much money as you can, and making sure you’re paid the compensation you deserve.
