How To Make Wellness Easier 

 

We all want to be fit and healthy and, of course, well, but sometimes actually reaching that point and doing what needs to be done is something of a chore – who wants to go out for a run or to the gym when sitting in front of the TV under a blanket is the alternative? Who wants to put effort into meal planning when calling for food to be delivered is an option? 

That’s the problem. We all know we should be doing things to take care of ourselves more, but those things tend to be hard, especially when compared to other things we could do instead. However, there are some ways to make wellness easier, and with that in mind, let’s look at some of them to help you on your wellness journey. 

Take Small Steps

Have you ever decided you’re going to get fit and healthy and then plunged right into a new routine, long runs, hours at the gym, or you’ve spent a load of money on this type of sneaker or that piece of equipment? The answer is probably yes, and it’s something a lot of people will have done. We realize we need to make changes, get the idea in our heads about how we’re going to do it, and then rush into it without really thinking. 

The issue is that nine times out of ten, we get bored, frustrated, don’t see any improvements, and don’t like the new regime, so we stop it and go back to what we were doing before. That’s not going to help, and it’s not going to make wellness easy. What will make it easy (or at least easier) is to take things slowly. Just make one change at a time, and don’t launch into anything big; take baby steps, and you’ll still see progress, and you’ll be more motivated to keep going, gradually doing more and more until your wellness isn’t a chore at all; it’s just something you do without thinking about it. 

Get Support 

Trying to take care of your wellness and health by yourself without any kind of support is always going to be harder than doing it with people around you to guide you and motivate you – and perhaps even do the work with you. So it makes sense to find that support, whether it’s friends and family, a personal trainer, a mentor like Robert Kusel, or even strangers on an online forum. 

Having people around you who can help make wellness less of a chore and much more fun and achievable is great, but it will also help you be a lot more accountable – if people are relying on you to work out with them or play sports with them, or if you need to check in with people to let them know how you’re going when it comes to closing in on your goals, you’ll be much more likely to get moving and that will make wellness easier to achieve. 

Find The Joy

Finally, if you’re only going to look at the negative side of ‘having’ to be fit and well, then it’s only ever going to seem like a bad thing to you, and it will feel much harder than it needs to be. However, if you can find the positive things – the joy, in other words – everything instantly becomes a lot easier. 

So, what is it you like about the wellness journey? Is it a particular sport? Being pampered? Having some time to do your hobbies? What is it that you love? Work that out and keep it in mind, and wellness no longer feels like a challenge.
