Peppermint Chocolate Christmas Rice Krispies Treats: A Mom’s Holiday Favorite!
With the holiday season just around the corner, there’s no better time to start whipping up some sweet, festive treats that the whole family can enjoy. Today, I’m excited to share one of my all-time favorites: Peppermint Chocolate Christmas Rice Krispies Treats. These delightful treats are not only a breeze to make but also a hit at any gathering or just for cozying up with a cup of hot cocoa with your little ones.
Peppermint Chocolate Christmas Rice Krispies Treats Ingredients
* 5 cups of Rice Krispies cereal
* 4 cups of miniature marshmallows
* 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter
* 1/2 cup of crushed peppermint candies
* 1 cup of semisweet chocolate chips
* 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
Peppermint Chocolate Christmas Rice Krispies Treats Instructions:

Melt the Marshmallows and Butter:
In a large saucepan over low heat, melt the butter, and then add the miniature marshmallows. Stir continuously until the mixture is smooth and the marshmallows are completely melted. This will create the gooey, marshmallowy base for your rice krispies treats.

Mix in the Rice Krispies Cereal:
Remove the saucepan from heat and gently fold in the rice krispies cereal, making sure it’s evenly coated with the marshmallow mixture. Add half of the crushed peppermint candies to the mixture as well. The pops of peppermint in these treats give them a delightful holiday twist!

Press into a Greased Pan:
Transfer the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Using a piece of wax paper or greased hands, press the mixture down firmly and evenly. It helps if you lightly grease your hands to prevent sticking.

Melt the Chocolate:
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and vegetable oil. Heat in 20-second intervals, stirring between each interval, until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth. This will be the delicious drizzle that tops your treats!

Drizzle with Chocolate:
Using a spoon or a small piping bag, drizzle the melted chocolate over the rice krisipies mixture in the pan. Be as creative as you’d like with the drizzles – zigzags, swirls, or a simple back-and-forth pattern – it’s all up to you.

Sprinkle with remaining Peppermint:
While the chocolate is still warm, sprinkle the remaining crushed peppermint candies over the top. This will not only add a burst of color but also a delightful burst of flavor.

Allow to Cool:
Allow the treats to cool for at least an hour. You can speed up the process by popping them into the refrigerator for about 30 minutes. Once they’ve set, cut into squares and enjoy!
