White Clay Creek Fest usually takes place the first Saturday in May, from noon to 4 pm at White Clay Creek State Park at the Carpenter Recreation Area. The Friday night events take place from 6 – 9:30 pm, and Saturday’s events are from noon to 10 pm. Friday evening will primarily consist of music, food, and drinks at the town center. Killens Pond State Park

Killens Pond State Park is technically open all year round, but many of the activities that are not available, or not as enjoyable in winter, are excellent choices for the spring. You can hike the pondside trail with your family, a 2.6-mile trail that offers picturesque views of the pond. You can also rent one of the kayaks, canoes, or paddleboats for your family and enjoy some time out on the water. The park is open from 8 am to sunset.

Dover Days Festival

Dover Days Festival is scheduled for the first Saturday in May from 9 am to 3 pm. This event is dedicated to promoting the state of Delaware’s heritage and culture. The highlight of this event is a parade with Delaware’s Governor serving as the Grand Marshall. There will also be Maypole dances, tethered hot air balloon rides, crafts, vendors, historical re-enactments, and many more fun activities.

The Great Delaware Kite Festival takes place at Cape Henlopen park on Good Friday, beginning at 11 am. There will be an Easter egg hunt and an appearance from the Easter Bunny himself. There will also be a kite competition. There are three categories in the competition, child, teen, and adult. Kite-flyers can use homemade or store-bought kites. There isn’t a specific fee to enter the event, but there is a fee to enter all Delaware state parks.

Funland

One of my favorite places to visit in Delaware is Funland. Funland is a family-friendly amusement center located on the boardwalk in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Funland is an affordable activity that offers great entertainment for the entire family. They have everything from rides to midway games and several arcade games. They open on Mother’s Day weekend and remain open through Labor Day.
